The M1A1 was the last modification of the Thompson SMG submachine gun - with simplified internal compartments and a reinforced stock, it became the Western Allies' main close combat weapon.
This 820 mm long SMG is made of metal alloys and ABS polymer. It is also made of imitation wood and a metal magazine.
The body, barrel, magazine and sights are machined from metal. The only external features made of polymer are the pistol grip, foregrip, handguard and stock.
