The new generation of the popular piston with steel teeth from the manufacturer Retro Arms. The piston body is made of Polyamide PA6.6 with 30% carbon fibre and 5% Molybdenum. We have reinforced and modified the plastic body of the piston to give it better durability.
The steel comb is newly manufactured from 14260 (54SiCr6) which is a spring steel. The hardness of the teeth is 52 - 54HRC which is ideal because the teeth are hard but flexible and not brittle.
Due to the Molybdenum additive used in the plastic, the plastic body of the piston is not lubricated but used dry. Most plastics degrade after contamination with oil or petroleum jelly and this reduces the strength.
It is recommended to apply petroleum jelly only to the steel comb.
